Wheel of delicious triple brie |
Yesterday we had a BBQ at our house, with friends coming and going throughout the day. It was so great to catch up with everyone, including family, long standing friends and new friendships that are being developed. The day was exactly what I hoped for, a pre-Christmas celebration which entailed throwing friends that had never met each other in together and watching them get along like a house on fire. It got me in the Christmas spirit, and I'm thinking that this pre-Christmas BBQ may just need to become a tradition.

A photo of us girls, just at the right level of punch consumption. |
There were lots of laughs, a girly preview of the bridesmaid's dress complete with 'oohs' and 'aahs', a well received answer to an unusual question, and of course, inappropriate innuendos....that's what happens when my girls and I get together and have a few glasses of punch.

And the shock spreads throughout the party "Wow! What is that!?" |
This will sound very tacky, but yesterday was exactly what Christmas should be (to me anyway); a time for being grateful for the amazing people you have around you. So, for someone that never makes new years resolutions, my goal for 2012 is to make lots of time for friends and family-because, quite frankly, up until now I suck at it.
