Delicious white bread |
Last Sunday I tried a different bread recipe, I was really naughty and made a traditional white loaf. It is delicious, and surprisingly it has kept really well.
We toasted the bread for breakfast on Monday morning and Mark noticed the spring of the toast bouncing back after he bit in to it. No doubt this was due to my excessive kneading of the dough. I'm learning that if a bread recipe tells you to knead by hand for 10 minutes you may need to put in a good 15 minutes, or maybe only 5, you just have to go by feel, and trust your gut instinct.

Eventually I am going to have to get the ingredients (and time) to make a soy and linseed loaf. If I'm really honest I'm worried about it not standing up to store bought loafs, whilst all my other loaves have knocked supermarket bread out of the park.
I think we're going to need a nice bread bin....if anyone is wondering what to get me for Christmas-I'm such a practical girl.
